What is Lunchtime Live?
Lunchtime Live is a weekly series of live videos on my YouTube channel. It’s a chance for us to chat about what’s new at Stitches n Scraps. Think of it as a video newsletter, where you can participate too! I start each episode with a look at the latest posts on the blog. Then I move on to any announcements and sneak peeks at what’s coming up in the following week. Finally, I end the episode with a demo or short tutorial.
For 2022, the demo portion will be a featured stitch of the week. I’ll show you a different stitch pattern each week, alternating between knit and crochet stitches.
Watch Live, or Watch Later!
Tune in here to watch live at 11:30 am, US Central Time on April 21st, 2022. Join in the conversation with the live chat! You’ll be able to ask questions and leave comments, which I can respond to in the video.
If you can’t make it during the live broadcast, that’s ok – you can watch the full episode after it’s over.
Stitch of the Week: Crochet Shell and V
This week’s stitch of the week is the crochet shell and V stitch. We’ve already looked at shell stitches and V stitches, now we will combine them to make a lacy pattern. The combinations are endless, but here’s the one we’ll look at in the video:
Chain a multiple of 8 + 5
Row 1 : 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, (skipped chs count as first dc), [sk next 3 chs, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch, sk next 3 chs, 5 dc in next ch] across to last 4 chs, sk next 3 chs, 2 dc in last ch.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in first st, sk next [3 dc, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next dc, sk next 3 dc, 5 dc in next ch-1 sp] across to last dc, sk next 3 dc, 2 dc in last dc.
Repeat row 2 to desired length.
After we run through this stitch pattern, we’ll look at its overall structure and some of the possible variations.
