What is Lunchtime Live?
Lunchtime Live is a weekly series of live videos on my YouTube channel. It’s a chance for us to chat about what’s new at Stitches n Scraps. Think of it as a video newsletter, where you can participate too! I start each episode with a look at the latest posts on the blog. Then I move on to any announcements and sneak peeks at what’s coming up in the following week. Finally, I end the episode with a demo or short tutorial.
For 2022, the demo portion will be a featured stitch of the week. I’ll show you a different stitch pattern each week, alternating between knit and crochet stitches.
Watch Live, or Watch Later!
Tune in here to watch live at 11:30 am, US Central Time on April 28th, 2022. Join in the conversation with the live chat! You’ll be able to ask questions and leave comments, which I can respond to in the video.
If you can’t make it during the live broadcast, that’s ok – you can watch the full episode after it’s over.
Stitch of the Week: Knit Dandelion Stitch
This week’s stitch of the week is the knit dandelion stitch. With this fun stitch, you’ll be pulling up extra loops for each flower petal, and then decreasing them away again on the next row. Each dandelion is worked over 8 stitches, and you can space them out within a pattern however you like. The pattern for the dandelion itself is:
RS Row: K1, insert your working needle into the st 3 rows below the 2nd st on the other needle, pull up loop through that stitch, leaving it loose enough that it doesn’t pull on the surrounding stitches, [k2, insert working needle into the same st as before and pull up another loop] twice, k1.
WS Row: [P1, p2tog] 3 times,
After we run through this stitch pattern, we’ll look at its overall structure and some of the possible variations.
