What is Lunchtime Live?

Lunchtime Live is a weekly series of live videos on my YouTube channel. It’s a chance for us to chat about what’s new at Stitches n Scraps. Think of it as a video newsletter, where you can participate too! I start each episode with a look at the latest posts on the blog. For 2022, the demo portion will be a featured stitch of the week. I’ll show you a different stitch pattern each week, alternating between knit and crochet stitches.

Stitch of the Week: Split Single Crochet

This week’s stitch of the week is the split single crochet. A slight change in where you insert your hook creates this dense fabric. The straight columns of V shapes on the front almost look like knitting! This stitch is also called the waistcoat stitch or centered single crochet.
