What is Lunchtime Live?

Lunchtime Live is a weekly series of live videos on my YouTube channel. It’s a chance for us to chat about what’s new at Stitches n Scraps. Think of it as a video newsletter, where you can participate too! I start each episode with a look at the latest posts on the blog. Then I move on to any announcements and sneak peeks at what’s coming up in the following week. Finally, I end the episode with a demo or short tutorial.

For 2022, the demo portion will be a featured stitch of the week. I’ll show you a different stitch pattern each week, alternating between knit and crochet stitches.

Stitch of the Week: Knit Herringbone Stitch

This week’s stitch of the week is the knit herringbone stitch. A slight modification transforms ssk and p2tog decreases into this lovely textured stitch.

The basic idea of the stitch is to work a left-leaning decrease, but only drop one of the worked stitches from your needle. Since you’re only dropping one stitch at a time, your stitch count remains the same. The stitches angle back and forth as you turn your work, creating the herringbone structure.
