What is Lunchtime Live?

Lunchtime Live is a weekly series of live videos on my YouTube channel. It’s a chance for us to chat about what’s new at Stitches n Scraps. Think of it as a video newsletter, where you can participate too! I start each episode with a look at the latest posts on the blog. Then I move on to any announcements and sneak peeks at what’s coming up in the following week. Finally, I end the episode with a demo or short tutorial.

For 2022, the demo portion will be a featured stitch of the week. I’ll show you a different stitch pattern each week, alternating between knit and crochet stitches.

Watch Live, or Watch Later!

Tune in here to watch live at 11:30 am, US Central Time on June 16th, 2022. Join in the conversation with the live chat! You’ll be able to ask questions and leave comments, which I can respond to in the video.

If you can’t make it during the live broadcast, that’s ok – you can watch the full episode after it’s over.

Stitch of the Week: Knit Star Stitch

This week’s stitch of the week is the knit star stitch. It’s a close companion to the knit trinity stitch that we explored a few weeks ago. This time, instead of pairing a decrease and a separate increase, we’ll make an increase out of decreases!

Make a knit star stitch by working a p3tog, yo, and p3tog all in the same set of 3 stitches. For a beautiful, diagonal texture, separate the stars by a plain purl stitch, and stagger them from row to row. Try it in this star stitch washcloth pattern!
