It's a new month, so it's time for a new Scrappy Stitchers Link Party! The most clicked link in last month's link party was Häekelfieber's Wacky Weave Babette CAL, Block 5. Congrats to Sandra for being most clicked - your CAL blocks are all lovely so far!

Free Pattern – Team Colors
Bundle up on game day with the soft, squishy warmth of the Team Colors scarf. Mitered squares give this scarf its bold, geometric design, and textured diagonal lines. Show your support for your favorite team, wear your school colors with pride, or make one in your favorite color combination!

Tutorial – Alternating Cable / Seed Stitch Cast On
This cast on is sometimes called the alternating cable cast on, or the seed stitch cast on. It's similar to the cable cast on, but alternates between knit and purl stitches. Before learning this cast on, you should know the knitted cast on and the cable cast on.

Best of 2018 – Top 18 Patterns and Tutorials
2018 was a fabulous growth year at Stitches n Scraps. There were fun blog hops, giveaways, make-alongs, and of course lots of patterns and tutorials! Let's take a look back at the top 18 patterns and tutorials that I posted in 2018, and some of the other fun we had along the way.

Tutorial – Pick up and Knit
Picking up stitches is an important skill in knitting. It lets you start working in a different direction, from any edge of your work. This is particularly useful for sleeves, collars, and edgings. While it is possible to pick up stitches purlwise, it's much more common to pick up stitches knitwise, or "pick up and knit".

Tutorial – Cable Cast On
The Cable Cast On creates a firm edge that has a pretty, twisted appearance and doesn't stretch as much as other cast ons. I particularly love this cast on for washcloths. Before learning this cast on, you should know the knitted cast on. The cable cast on is very similar, but with one slight change.

Tutorial – Knitted Cast On
The knitted cast on is one of the most basic cast on techniques. It's a great one for new knitters to learn, because it uses the same motions as the knit stitch.

Asymmetrical Knit Scarf – Edison Park
By request, Edison Park is the knit version of my Norwood Park pattern, and features the same, asymmetrical, V shape. The lightweight fabric and eyelet edges are equally at home running errands in jeans or dressing up for a party. Wrap it for warmth, or for more dramatic flair, wear it draped over your shoulders with the long, tapered ends hanging down at the back. You can even hang a small charm from the picot at the center! The free pattern includes both written and charted instructions.

Letter Charts (entire Alphabet! – 12 x 14)
When I published the Boo Blocks pattern for Halloween, many of you said you would like to use the same design for other words and holidays as well. Now you can, with these colorwork letter charts for the entire alphabet, and a couple of extra symbols too!
