Best of 2019 – Top 19 Patterns and Tutorials
It’s been a busy and eventful year here at Stitches n Scraps! We’ve had lots of new patterns, tutorials, make-alongs, link parties, and more. Here is a look back at the best of 2019, including the 19 most viewed patterns and tutorials of the year. I can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store!

Best of 2019 – Make Alongs
We all love to knit along and crochet along with others. It’s a fun way to learn new techniques and make new friends too. That’s why I co-host 2 make-along groups on Facebook, with several other designers. Between those two groups, we’ve had a lot of opportunities to knit and crochet together this year.
KAL Corner Knitting
At KAL corner, we divided the year up into 4 themed sections for the Finishing Touches KAL. We worked on those perfect, finishing touches to an outfit, home, or holiday gift list.
Our 2020 Knit Along is starting soon, with lots of great designers, prizes, and always lots of fun. Join KAL Corner today so you don’t miss the announcement!
CAL Central Crochet
CAL Central is home to several crochet along events throughout the year. We started the year getting cozy with the Hygge Home CAL. After that, we made squishy friends in the Softie CAL. Then we cleaned up with the Washcloth CAL, and welcomed fall with the Halloween CAL. As always, we ended the year with our signature event, the Holiday Stashdown CAL.
We have just as much fun planned for next year, starting with something new. The You’ve Got Options CAL features 12 blanket squares that can be made in 2 different sizes. At the end, join them into a pillow, blanket, scarf, or whatever you choose. You’ve got options!
Scrappy Stitchers
This year, I’ve decided to host a crochet along in the Scrappy Stitchers group as well. The Scrappy Stitchers Stash Bash is all about working your way through your yarn stash, with fun stashbusting patterns.
Other Events
Besides these events, I had the pleasure of participating in lots more! I did a Mini-Mystery Crochet Along in cooperation with A Crocheted Simplicity, and I also designed patterns for:
- The annual afghan CAL on Moogly
- Make it for Me CAL on ELK Studio
- Crochet Cancer Challenge with Sweet Potato 3
- Scarf of the Month club with Oombawka Designs and The Stitchin’ Mommy
- Christmas in July Make Along with Underground Crafter
. I plan to participate in all of these again this year too if possible!
