420 Stash Bag Crochet Drawstring Pouch
Beads, buttons, baubles, or…whatever other small items you want to stash, put them in the 420 Stash Bag! It’s great for small snacks too, in case of munchies. Trinity stitch gives this crochet drawstring pouch its all-over leafy texture. Make it in DK or worsted-weight yarn, and with or without the optional leaf appliqué.

Yarn Choices
Choose any yarn you like for this crochet drawstring pouch! The pattern includes yardage and size information for DK and Worsted weight yarns, but you can use thinner or thicker yarns to make a smaller or larger bag. For both of the pictured samples, I used yarns from my stash that Lion Brand had originally provided for previous projects.
DK version
The first sample uses Mandala, which is a DK-weight, self-striping, acrylic yarn. I love how the colors just happened to change right near the middle of the bag, giving me a contrasting drawstring. For the leaf appliqué, I pulled some green yarn from further into the skein. The yarn came from a Bonus Bundle skein, which has twice as much yardage as the regular Mandala skeins, but you can certainly use a regular size skein instead.

Worsted Version
I know many of my readers prefer to work with worsted-weight yarn, so I made the second sample in 24/7 Cotton. The worsted-weight cotton gives the bag a whole different feel!

Alternative Drawstring Options
The pattern includes instructions for a simple, crochet drawstring. But feel free to substitute your favorite type of cord. The cord is woven into the natural gaps between stitches, so if you’re going with a store-bought cord, choose a smooth one. Leather cords can sometimes have rough edges that will wear away at your stitches.
