#DIW2 ends today

It’s been a fun journey, but today is officially the last day of Design Improv Workshop 2 (#DIW2). Of course that doesn’t mean you can’t finish your scarf, or even start one if you haven’t already! If you made a scarf, please be sure to post your pictures on the Pinterest board. If you’re just following along to see all the pretty scarves, check out the Pinterest board – you won’t be disappointed!

Here’s mine. I ended up making it an infinity scarf. I had originally intended to make 4 repeats (2 in each direction) for a regular scarf, but after the first 2 I realized I didn’t have enough yarn and it would have been too long anyway.

My #DIW2 scarf

This was my special souvenir skein of yarn from So Much Yarn when I went to Seattle, and I love that the scarf sort of tells the story of all the designers who helped create it. I had thought it would be a great gift for whoever ends up being my “buddy” (i.e. a guide for newbies like me) at the Knit and Crochet Show, specifically because it’s so special. Now that it’s finished though, I’m not sure I want to let go of it. I’m going to have to think about that some more.

I loved this experience and want to say a great big thank you to everyone who participated, whether you designed a section, designed a row for the add-a-row activity, or just followed along and made the scarf. Doing it all together is what makes it fun. I hope we get to do more of these in the future…who knows what #DIW3 will look like!
