What is Lunchtime Live?
Lunchtime Live is a weekly series of live videos on my YouTube channel. It’s a chance for us to chat about what’s new at Stitches n Scraps. Think of it as a video newsletter, where you can participate too! I start each episode with a look at the latest posts on the blog. Then I move on to any announcements and sneak peeks at what’s coming up in the following week. Finally, I end the episode with a demo or short tutorial.
For 2022, the demo portion will be a featured stitch of the week. I’ll show you a different stitch pattern each week, alternating between knit and crochet stitches.
Watch Live, or Watch Later!
Tune in here to watch live at 11:30 am, US Central Time on April 7th, 2022. Join in the conversation with the live chat! You’ll be able to ask questions and leave comments, which I can respond to in the video.
If you can’t make it during the live broadcast, that’s ok – you can watch the full episode after it’s over.
Stitch of the Week: Crochet Stacked Shell Stitch
This week’s stitch of the week is the crochet stacked shell stitch. These stacked shells are a lacy variation of the staggered shell stitch that we looked at 2 weeks ago.
The swatch shows the following pattern, over a multiple of 6+1 sts:
Ch 26 (multiple of 6 +2)
Row 1 (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook, [sk next 2 chs, 5 dc in next ch, sk next 2 chs, sc in next ch] across.
Row 2: Ch 5 (counts as dc and ch-2), sk next 2 dc, sc in next dc, ch 2, sk next 2 dc, dc in next sc, [ch 2, sk next 2 dc, sc in next dc, ch 2, sk next 2 dc, dc in next sc] across.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first dc, [sk next ch-2 sp, 5 dc in next sc, sk next ch-2 sp, sc in next dc] across.
Repeat rows 2-3 to desired length.
We’ll look at the overall structure of this stitch, as well as how to change it up a bit for an even lacier look.
