Best of 2020 – Top 20 Patterns and Tutorials

It’s been a heck of a year, hasn’t it? This year has brought a lot of growth, and with it some changes, here at Stitches n Scraps. It was a year full of new patterns, tutorials, giveaways, make alongs, live videos, and much more! I hope these have added a little happiness, or filled in a few empty hours stuck at home. Here’s a look back at the best of 2020, plus a few sneak peeks at 2021!

Best of 2020 – Make Alongs

Knit alongs and crochet alongs are such a great way to connect with other crafters. This year that connection is more important than ever. I co-host 2 make-along groups on Facebook, with several other designers. Between those two groups, we’ve had a lot of opportunities to knit and crochet together.

KAL Corner Knitting

At KAL corner, we did a year long, 2020 Knit Along with a new pattern each month. Next year, we’ll be breaking it up into 3 themed crochet alongs, starting with hats.

CAL Central Crochet

At CAL Central, we had 5 crochet alongs this year. We started off with the You’ve Got Options CAL. After that, we made squishy friends in the Softie CAL. Then we cleaned up with the Scrubbie CAL, and welcomed fall with the Halloween CAL. As always, we ended the year with our signature event, the Holiday Stashdown CAL.

Since we’re all stuck at home for the time being, we might as well get cozy. We’re kicking off 2021 with a Cozy at Home CAL!

Scrappy Stitchers

We had fun working through our stash in the Scrappy Stitchers Stash Bash throughout the year. There was a new pattern and a new prize every month. For next year, I’m planning a fast and easy Fridgie CAL.

This time, we’ll be making a new fridge magnet every month. I have some awesome, quarterly giveaway prizes lined up for you too!

That covers crochet, but we’ll also kick off 2021 with a knit along! Join the Simply Sweet Raglan Baby Sweater KAL to learn the basics of top-down, raglan sweater shaping.
