Autumn Air Cowl Crochet Along

Learn Tunisian entrelac crochet in the Autumn Air Cowl Crochet Along! We had so much fun learning intermeshing crochet in our last crochet along, that we decided to do another new technique.  Join in the fun on the Stitches n Scraps Facebook group!

Autumn Air Cowl Crochet Along - learn Entrelac Crochet on Stitches n Scraps

Entrelac is done one small block at a time. Each block builds off the ones before it, for a seamless construction. If you’re new to Tunisian crochet, this project will be a great introduction to one of the most basic Tunisian stitches – Tunisian simple stitch.

I will be posting the cowl pattern in sections over the course of the crochet along. Each new section will be added to the pattern, so at the end the pattern will be complete.

I will also be posting a few video tutorials for the different parts, and am working on a giveaway prize (or maybe more than 1). Keep reading for details on how to participate and how to enter the giveaway!

This post includes:

  1. Materials
  2. How to join in
  3. Schedule
  4. Giveaway prizes & coupon codes
  5. Giveaway entry form

Materials

  • DK weight yarn:
    • 125 yds Rust (A)
    • 100 yds Green (B)
    • 100 yds Yellow (C)
  • Size H / 5 mm hook, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Note: You do not necessarily need to use a tunisian hook, but there should be enough room on the hook before any finger grips to comfortably fit 9 loops / stitches.
  • Yarn needle

The yarn I used for the sample was Schulana Merino Cotton 135. It’s a DK weight blend of cotton and merino wool, but seems to be discontinued. I have included stitch multiples in the pattern, so you can make adjustments, if you would like to change the size or use a different weight of yarn. Please keep in mind that any changes will affect your yardage as well.

They’ve also generously created a coupon code just for this crochet along! Use the code AutumnAir in their store, to get 10% off your purchase. Ablet 2-Row Knitting Abacus:

Ablet is providing one winner with a 2-row knitting abacus! The winner will be able to choose from the available colors (not including the sterling silver one).

A knitting abacus is a clever tool to help you count stitches and rows, and works just as well for crochet as it does for knitting. Here’s a video demonstration from when I visited the Ablet booth at TNNA:
