Fixing Mistakes

While working up this section, I made a couple of mistakes. First I accidentally decreased a stitch, and then later I added an extra row to a square.

One downside to this type of project is that if you don’t find a mistake until the next round, it usually means a LOT of ripping out. If I had been making the cowl for someone else, I would have ripped it out and done it right. But this project was for me, and the mistakes weren’t very noticeable. So instead, I corrected for them once I found them, and moved forward.

I have added a 2nd video tutorial to the pattern. The first part of the tutorial shows you how to make the diamonds. At the end, I showed the mistakes I made and how I corrected them to get my stitch and row counts back on track.

Next Week

This week’s section is actually most of the cowl. It’s the same round of diamonds repeated several times, but will take some time to work up.

Because of that, this section will extend into next week as well. There will be no new pattern section or video next week, we’ll just continue working through this section.
