Free Pattern – Avondale Scarf
A little bit casual and a little bit quirky, the Avondale Scarf could easily become your go-to accessory for the season! The bold stripes in neutral colors have a unisex appeal that's great for work or weekend wear. Add in the herringbone texture, with its slightly zigzag edge, and you have a piece that's as much fun to make as it is to wear!

Tutorial – Herringbone Double Crochet (HBdc)

Free Pattern – Streeterville Cowl
Stay warm and cozy without a lot of bulk! The Streeterville cowl works up quickly, and the linen stitch pattern creates a light and drapey fabric. I designed this for the yarn from one of my early attempts at spinning. The stitch pattern really allows the texture of uneven or thick-and-thin yarns to shine, so it's great for novice spinners! It softens color transitions too, so works well with self-striping yarns.

One Hour Cowls for Seniors
Around this time of year, many crafters are work on charity projects, and are usually eager to share the details. That's why, for it's current CAL project, the CGOA (Crochet Guild of America) is doing a Crochet for Charity Crochet-Along. Participants can share their progress on their current charity projects with the group. This way, we can all encourage each other to meet our goals, and anyone who is looking for a project to work on can see lots of ideas! If you haven't heard of this yet, you can find the details on the CGOA CALs group on Facebook.
