Knit & Crochet Show 2016 – Goodies & a Giveaway

Earlier I told you about all the fun classes I took at the Knit and Crochet Show this year. My full schedule left very little time for shopping, but I definitely made the most of it. There were lots of goody bags and freebies from the sponsors, and some late night trading sessions in the hotel lobby too. When you add it all up, I brought home quite a lot of swag from the show!

My mom was thrilled with the Caron Simply Soft, it’s her favorite yarn. From Lion Brand, there’s a nice bag, a few little goodies, and a couple of skeins of 24/7 Cotton. I’m looking forward to working with those, it’s a yarn I’ve been meaning to try. I also ended up with 5 skeins of Cascade Cherub, 1 ball of Cotton Fair from Premier, and 1 skein each of Quest and Everest from Willow yarns. Finally there’s a lovely hand died skein from Lisa Souza, and a skein of Berroco Mykonos which is so sleek and shiny! I have no idea what I’m going to make with all this yet, but for right now it sure is fun to pet and squish and look at.

You’ve already seen the Interlacements Cabled Cotton I picked up at Crochetville for my one knitting class. From other booths I also picked up a beautiful shawl pin, and a fun sunflower measuring tape. And then I found Bead Biz. For those of you who have also found Bead Biz, you know the beads will literally jump in your hands and insist on being purchased. I mean just look at this set in shades of blues and greens! I was told all the beads should fit nicely onto DK weight yarn…so of course that meant I needed some DK weight yarn.

I went straight to Designing Vashti for that, and came away with cream colored DK Treat, and a taupe skinny (fingering weight) Treat. I’m thinking of making a shawl mostly in the cream color, with accents of taupe and green beads. What do you think? I had to stop at Vashti’s anyway because I was planning to pick up a ball of the jelly yarn. I bought a ball last year but ended up giving it away to a friend. This one I’m keeping!

There’s more too! I promised to give away a goody bag if the Stitches ‘N’ Scraps Facebook page reached 2000 likes this weekend. You are all so awesome, it blew right past that number and is now above 2050 likes! To say thank you, I’m giving away 2 goody bags (1 each to 2 winners) instead of just 1.

Each of the winners will receive:
