    Scrappy Stitchers Link Party #25

Our most clicked link in November was this Fox Doll by Lalka Crochet. What a cutie she is! Congrats Lalka! Who's link will be most clicked in December? Remember, you don't need to have a pattern or a blog, you can link to a project page or image file too. I'm hoping to see a merry link-up full of wonderful holiday projects this month.

Knitting Along 6 – Anthology Blanket by the Underground Crafter

I finally finished my blanket for the Anthology Blanket Knit Along!  Did you do the KAL too? If so, remember, you have until the end of November to finish up your blanket and enter the giveaway. The squares were becoming a Friday night stitching group ritual for me, and I can’t believe it’s done. I’m really happy with how it turned out though: The last 5 squares: In my previous posts, I showed you all the squares, 5 at a time: Squares 1-5, squares 6-10, squares 11-15, squares 16-20, and squares 21-25. Finally, here are my last 5 squares. From left to right, top to bottom: Diagonal Purl, Garter Rib, Garter & Stockinette Boxes, Dashes, and…

Book Review – Customize Your Knitting

I was so excited to get this book, Customize your Knitting, by Margaret Hubert. I've had the privelege of meeting Margaret a couple of times now, at the Knit and Crochet Show. She's a fun, and amazingly talented fiber artist. Customize your Knitting is not just a book of patterns, but rather uses the patterns to teach a variety of different techniques.

  • Boho Duster - A Country Yarn

    Scrappy Stitchers Link Party #23

Halloween is just around the corner. Have you been working on anything spooky, cute, or just fun? Show us in this month’s link party! Congrats to A Country Yarn for the most clicked link in September – her Boho Duster. I love the detail on the back, but I think my favorite parts are those huge bell sleeves, and the way it ruffles on the bottom. It fits her perfectly too!   Now it’s your turn Remember, any fiber related project you’ve made is fine – it does not have to be your own design and you don’t have to have a blog. You can link up your Ravelry project pages or Instagram photos too,…

  • Slouchy Diamond Hat - Pattern Review on StitchesNScraps.com

Pattern Review – Slouchy Diamond Cap by Melody’s Makings

As many of you know, I’ve been working on the Anthology Blanket Knit-Along from the Underground Crafter. I wanted to make a coordinating item with the small bits of each color that are left over. Melody’s Makings patterns has several beautiful baby items I thought might work, so I tried there first. I decided on her Slouchy Diamond Cap, which is a free pattern (at the time of writing this). It’s available in knit and crochet, but I chose knit, to match the blanket. The striping pattern I used was mostly influenced by how much of each color I had left. I started with the ribbing section in pink, then 1 round of yellow. I…

  • Colors & Laces by My Places

    Scrappy Stitchers Link Party #22

With the kids back in school, it’s time for all things fall! I’m hoping to see lots of pumpkins and leaves and other autumn items this month, along with anything else you’ve been working on. Congrats to My Places for the most clicked link in August – she had the most clicked link last month too! This month, it’s her Colors and Laces embroidered and crocheted bookmark. Such a pretty design. The embroidery is not a technique I am familiar with, but looks very delicate and precise.   Now it’s your turn Remember, any fiber related project you’ve made is fine – it does not have to be your own design and…

  • Blocking squares - Anthology Blanket KAL - StitchesNScraps.com

Knitting Along 5 – Anthology Blanket by the Underground Crafter

The Anthology Blanket Knit Along is almost over! There are just 4 squares left. The squares are all fairly easy though, so there’s still time to catch up. You’ve seen my first 5 squares, squares 6-10, squares 11-15, and squares 16-20. Here are squares 21-25. From left to right, top to bottom: Ridge Stitch, Ribbed Basketweave, Garter Zig Zag, Zipper Rib, and Waffle Rib. I now only have the self striping yarn left, and I hope I have enough for the last few squares. The Garter Zig Zag stitch didn’t show up very well on the self striping yarn. I think it would have looked much nicer in a solid color. The rest of the squares all turned…

Earlier I told you about all the fun classes I took at the Knit and Crochet Show this year. My full schedule left very little time for shopping, but I definitely made the most of it.
