What is the Finish It Challenge
Most of us have at least one unfinished project looming over us. You know the one. you started it ages ago, put it aside, and then never came back to it. Or maybe you picked it up a few times and worked on it a bit, but it still feels like it will never be done.
I named mine the Never-ending, Nightmare Stashbuster Blanket (NNSB for short). Claire of Mollie & Claire told me she had a blanket she needed to finish as well. Then she had the brilliant idea that we should finish our blankets together! From that conversation was born the 2014 Finish It Challenge.
Join the Challenge!
This will be a 1 month challenge through July 2014, with the goal of finishing our really old WIP(s). To qualify, your WIP should have been started at least 6 months ago, and should be finished by July 31st. All fiber arts are welcome! Here’s how you can join in the fun:
Join the Ravelry group
The Ravelry Group is the official home of the challenge, and most of the activity will be here. There’s a WIP wall to post our starting points, an FO thread to post our beautiful finished projects, and a main thread for general discussion. Be sure to check in often!

Giveaway Prizes
Claire, from Mollie & Claire, has provided this lovely blue skein of SparkLynne 4 ply sock yarn from The Knitting Goddess. It is a superwash merino / nylon blend, with just a touch of sparkle. Like all yarns from The Knitting Goddess, this is hand dyed in small batches for a truly unique skein!
I will be providing these three balls of Linen Concerto by Plymouth Yarn. This is a DK weight linen, rayon and cotton blend with a unique sheen that caught my eye from across the store.
I chose a trio of colors that I thought worked well together. I started with the “Lavender Mix” colorway, and then added “Emerald” and “Grape” to bring out the purple and green tones in the first ball.

Well, i don’t qualify with the 6-month rule, I actually just finished all those up. So I’ll just go ahead and finish one I started this month if I haven’t already done it by then….

Sounds good! 🙂

Does finishing a CAL count? I still haven’t finished all those squares. :/
stitches'n'scraps
LOL yes, anything that started over 6 months ago counts. Actually the only real reason we even have a 6 month guideline is it’s intended to be a WIP that’s taking forever to finish, not something you started last week. but really other than that, anything goes 🙂

What a good idea! Maybe I should make the effort to finish my oldest WIP, a blanket that I have been adding on to for 17 years on and off! Well, more off than on, obviously!
