Wouldn't It Be Rice is pattern #28 in the 2018 Harmony Blanket Knit Along. This square features panels of rice stitch, separated by vertical lines of stockinette. Rice stitch is a form of ribbing, so it gives the pattern a squishy, bouncy texture, with the stockinette lines adding a bit of visual "pop"

Most of the time in knitting, we want our stitches to lay flat and even. If they twist, it's often a mistake. Sometimes though, we want to knit twisted stitches on purpose, as a textural element. To do this, we knit through the back loop (ktbl) or purl through the back loop (ptbl).
