Free Pattern – Non-stop slippers- Baby sizes
These boxy-toe slippers are worked all in one piece, never needing to break the yarn until you’re finished (unless you want to incorporate more colors). The sole is worked first, with the rest of the slipper built up from there, which makes it easy to add a 2nd sole for extra padding if desired. These slippers can also be a great blank canvas for your creativity – make them your own by working different sections in different colors, adding a drawstring around the ankle, or adding your favorite embellishments! The Non-Stop Slippers pattern is available in a total of 9 sizes, from infant all the way up to adult, so you can make a pair for everyone! This…

Coming Soon – Holiday Stashdown CAL
I’m excited to be participating in two great CALs that are starting soon! Earlier, I told you about the Mystery Lapghan CAL which started on Monday. Now here’s another one – the Holiday Stashdown CAL. 15 crochet designers (including me) will be sharing 15 free crochet patterns for holiday gifts and decorations. The CAL starts on September 14th and is designed to work from your existing yarn stash, so each pattern will be a one-skein project or a stashbuster / scrap yarn project. Of course if you do buy new yarn, and add it to your stash, then it technically becomes stash yarn too, right? At least, that’s the excuse I’m using!…

Coming Soon – Mystery Lapghan CAL
It’s just about time for a fun, new CAL, and I couldn’t be more excited! I’m actually going to be doing 2 CALs this fall, but the first one I want to tell you about is this Mystery Lapghan CAL, which starts in just 2 days. This post contains affiliate links (click here for more info) – if you click on these links and create an account or make a purchase, I may be compensated. I’ve teamed up with 28 other crochet designers to share 36 free crochet square patterns for a one-of-a-kind lapghan! Each pattern will be 6-inches square, using a worsted or aran weight yarn – yarn symbol 4…

#DIW2 – Mystery blog hop CAL scarf section 1
It’s finally time to start the Design Improv Workshop (#DIW2) Mystery blog hop scarf CAL! For the rules, social media links, etc, please check out this intro post. Section 2 will be posted by Mistie Bush of American Crochet on 4/3/15. I will update this link once her post is available. Remember, there are purposely no recommendations as to yarn and/or hook. We want to see variety! Without further ado, here are my first 5 rows: Each section of this pattern is protected by the author’s respective copyright. Please do not distribute or share any section without prior permission in any way other than by sharing a link to it. Click here for copyright information. This post contains affiliate links (click…

#DIW2 – My yarn choice
I’ve finally decided which yarn I want to use for the Design Improv Workshop #2 scarf (#DIW2). Here it is – this lovely skein of Madelinetosh Merino Light. This has been one of the nicer skein in my stash for almost a year now. It’s extra special because it’s a souvenir from my visit to Churchmouse Yarns and Teas near Seattle. I keep thinking of using it, but then no project quite seems worthy. I think it has just been waiting for this one. The Moorland colorway is such a beautiful, mottled shade of green, which is my favorite color. It will be perfect for a light, spring scarf. I had concerns about…

#DIW2 – Mystery CAL blog hop scarf
Here it is! the big news I’ve been hinting at! Some of you may remember the first Design Improv Workshop from back in October, where a bunch of designer friends and I got together to create an impromptu pattern. That was SO much fun that we just had to do it again. This time though, we’re going to make it a lot more exciting, and we hope you will all join in. Instead of putting the pattern together by ourselves, we’re going to make it a mystery CAL blog hop! I will kick things off with a post on April 1st (no joke), with the first few rows of a scarf pattern. After that, another designer…
