Mosaic Sampler Blanket Pattern

This tutorial video shows the fourth section of the Mosaic Sampler Blanket. The blanket is divided into 6 sections, each with a different stitch pattern. It also includes instructions for 3 different sizes from a small baby blanket to a large afghan.

The video follows along with the written pattern, and you will need to refer to the pattern for specific stitch counts for the various sizes.

As I release each new section, I will add it to the pattern post. So that post will always have the most up-to-date and most complete version of the pattern. Check the MKAL post for the schedule and tutorial links for the previous sections.

Reading Your Work

Now that we’re halfway through the blanket, following the mosaic knitting charts and patterns hopefully feels more natural. Are you ready for more of a challenge?

Rows 11 and 12 are the vertical center of the motif, which is then mirrored on the other side. You can see this on the chart, and I discuss it in the video when I get to those rows.

Once you get to that point, try starting rows 13-20 without looking at the pattern. Mirror what you’ve already done on previous rows, and use the stitches below as a guide to build the top half of the motif. On each row, do one or two repeats, and then check your work against the pattern to make sure you’re on track.
