If You Try to Find a Hook
Yesterday, I went looking for a hook that had seemingly disappeared. Actually, ALL my hooks of that size had conveniently decided to disappear at the same time. That’s how it began.
If you try to find a hook…
You’ll stumble across that WIP that needs blocking, so you’ll stop to block it.
You’ll run out of pins, and take them out of the larger project that’s done blocking. (I can’t show you yet!)
The larger project needs ends woven in, so you’ll take it to your work table.
You’ll have to make room by moving some yarn.
Which means you’ll first have to fix the tangle of swatch remains and yarn barf.
While you’re untangling, you’ll see your pile of FOs in the corner, and think you really should put those in your closet. (There’s a dress form under there somewhere, I swear).
Only there isn’t room in your closet. So you’ll have to clean out all the stuff that doesn’t fit anymore. (Let’s be honest, that’s most of it).
When you’re cleaning it out, you’ll see that you don’t have shoes for that new dress. So you’ll stop to shop online for shoes.
You won’t be sure if those cute shoes will go with the jacket you’re making. So you’ll go get that jacket.
The jacket is almost done so you’ll decide to finish it. But the hook has mysteriously disappeared.
So you’ll try to find the hook…
(But first you’ll realize your lack of attention span is ridiculous, so you’ll stop to write a post about it).
