National Crochet Month is coming up soon. Last year, Marly Bird, Underground Crafter, and I celebrated with a month long Hooked On Yarn Instagram challenge. It was so much fun that we’re doing it again! Welcome to #HookedOnYarn2019!

What is an Instagram challenge?

An Instagram challenge is basically a series of topics, prompts, or ideas for people to post about on Instagram. There is a different topic for each day, and many of them are intentionally a little vague. It’s always fun to see how different people interpret the prompts!

Sounds like fun, how do I join in?

1. Every day in March, post something on Instagram relating to the prompt for that day. Don’t worry about posting the “right” thing. We love creativity, so interpret the prompts any way you like!
2. Use the hashtag #HookedOnYarn2019 in your post so others can follow along. Other tags like #HookedOnYarn2019Day1 can be useful for searching, but be sure to use the main hashtag in each post too.
3. Follow along! Click the hashtag in your post to see what other people have posted for the challenge.

Liking us on Instagram, and liking or commenting on other posts in the challenge is appreciated, but not required. You can find us at @UCrafter, @TheMarlyBird, and @StitchesnScraps

But I’m not on Instagram…

That’s ok! While this challenge is designed for Instagram, you can participate on other social media platforms as well. Just remember to use the hashtag so we can find you.

We are purposely posting this list nearly a month early. This way there’s time to get the word out, and also to get prepared with some images ahead of time if you like. I can’t wait to see everyone’s posts!
