Mosaic Sampler Blanket Pattern
This tutorial video shows the third section of the Mosaic Sampler Blanket. The blanket is divided into 6 sections, each with a different stitch pattern. It also includes instructions for 3 different sizes from a small baby blanket to a large afghan.
The video follows along with the written pattern, and you will need to refer to the pattern for specific stitch counts for the various sizes.
As I release each new section, I will add it to the pattern post. So that post will always have the most up-to-date and most complete version of the pattern. Check the MKAL post for the schedule and tutorial links for the previous sections.
Basic Stitch Anti-Pilling yarn
Lion Brand generously provided the Basic Stitch Anti-Pilling yarn for this design. It’s a super soft yarn with a silky feel and a little bit of shine.
Enter the MKAL giveaway for a chance to win 6 skeins of this fabulous yarn! See all the details in the main KAL post.
Centering The Design
This third stitch pattern has a lot of rows in each pattern repeat. Large row repeats often don’t break nicely across the number of rows you are working for each section. You can see from the images that this section ends halfway through the second repeat on my blanket. Where it ends for you may be different, depending on the size you are making and the number of rows you need to get the right length.
For a sampler style blanket like this, I’m fine with the patterns breaking at weird spots. But I know that some people like to have the design as symmetrical as possible along each section. At the end of the tutorial, I’ll talk you through the math to center the design across your section, if that’s what you would like to do.
