The March pattern was the Fairy Cake Tea Cozy by Frankie Brown. It’s a cute pattern, and written very well.
Final March Tea Cozy Thoughts
I wasn’t totally happy with my cozy, but I think that was due to my own mistakes. I feel there isn’t enough red “cake” showing, and it’s too short – the bottom of my pot shows a bit from underneath the “wrapper”:
This is probably because I tried to be clever and knit it in the round. After separating for the spout and handle, I joined back up again too soon on the spout side. The icing ended up overlapping the cake by quite a bit. If I had joined it later, it would have sat lower on the pot with more red showing.
I saved a bit of time at the end by gluing the buttons on top instead of sewing them.
Get Ready for April
Next Tuesday is the 1st of April, which will be the official kick-off for the next cozy. There will be no sneak preview this month, but the Ravelry group is still a great place to get tips and suggestions, and to follow everyone’s progress.
