I received my June Yarnbox a couple of weeks ago, and I’m late in sharing it with you but I haven’t forgotten. I didn’t realize the box had arrived and was waiting for me at my office, so it was a week before I knew it had come. Since then, between Tea Cozy Tuesdays, Socks with Sarah, and now the Finish It Challenge, I just haven’t had a chance. It’s been a busy month so far!

Ok, now that you’ve heard my excuses, here it is…my last Yarnbox from the 3 month subscription I got as a birthday gift.

This month’s selection is a coordinating trio of yarns from Artyarns. There are 2 skeins of Supermerino, one in a solid blue (color 2279), and one in a rainbow of blues, purples, pinks, greens, and browns (color 1027). In the middle is a skein of Beaded Silk and Sequins light in shades of pink and coral (color 190).

This is not my typical color palette, but it is pretty, coordinates beautifully, and I’m intrigued by the different textures. The box included an Art Yarns pattern designed with this combination of yarns. It’s a pretty knit Wavy Shawl designed by Iris Schreier. The lace pattern looks a bit complicated for my knitting skills, but I’m going to give it a go.

The pattern link in this paragraph is an affiliate link. If you make a purchase after clicking this link, I may be compensated. Also in the box was a textured, crochet hat pattern called Ski Bunny by ACCrochet. I really like this pattern too, and may have to try it in time for winter.

Overall I’ve been really happy with my gift subscription. Considering other commitments, the three boxes are likely all I’ll have time for in a year. Once I make it through these three, I may just have to add another 3 month subscription to my wish list for next year!

P.S. Thanks Mom!!!
