I’ve had a lot of different projects going on in the last few weeks, some of which I can show you, and some of which I can’t (at least not yet!)
Remember that lacey jacket / cardigan thing I was working on (and frogged twice)? It’s been slow going, but the back just came off the needles last night – here it is waiting to be washed and blocked. Not only am I still slow at lace, but this is also my first ever large article of clothing for myself. I love the design but I must admit I’ve been avoiding working on this. It’s hard to realize just how much fabric it takes to cover me. Looking at this giant piece of knitting all spread out in front of me, knowing it will only get bigger when blocked, well…I just feel huge. If I still feel this way after finishing this project (eventually), I may decide to just stick to accessories…at least for myself.
Speaking of accessories, my most recent pair of socks for the Socks with Sarah KAL is coming along nicely and fits well. If I wanted to, I could probably bind off now, put in the afterthought heels, and have cute little ankle socks. I like long slouchy socks though, so I still have a lot of cuff to go.
I’m also working on a pattern for a special project. Instead of the ice bucket challenge, one designer came up with a great, alternative way to support the ALS association, and got a whole bunch of other designers to join in. We will all be submitting crochet patterns for an e-book, the proceeds of which will go to the ALSA. I’m just so excited to be included in this project! It’s all still in the early stages of planning, but I should be able to share more information soon.
I’m still working on another spiral seashell pattern too, which I hope to have for you before the end of the week. Later this week, I’ll be doing a photo shoot for a new, toddler size design, and I’ve got a couple of other new patterns in the works as well. To make sure you don’t miss out on all the fun, use the links at the right to follow this blog, either by e-mail or RSS feed!
